Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 22, 2026. Great Outdoor Cottages wants everyone to be able to use greatoutdoorcottages.com, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, or voice control.

Standard we aim for

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and by Section 508. We treat it as an ongoing obligation rather than a one-time project.

What we have done

• Every meaningful image has a text description, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
• Photo galleries expose a description for each image rather than announcing an unlabelled link.
• Each page has one main heading, and headings are nested in order so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on our standard pages.
• Keyboard focus is always visible, and the cookie preferences dialog can be operated and dismissed entirely from the keyboard.
• Every form field has an accessible name, and form errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers.
• The cookie banner never blocks the page, and refusing it leaves the site fully usable.

Known limitations

We are honest about what is not finished. Much of this site carries over the design of our previous website, and we are still reviewing it, including color contrast where text sits over photographs and a few campaign landing pages that do not yet have a skip link. Content supplied by other companies, including the Google maps on our Contact and Find a Dealer pages, the job listings from Paylocity on our Careers page, and Matterport 3D walkthroughs, is controlled by those providers and may not fully meet the standard. We are working on all of it.
